Mission Statement

When I am elected to City Council, my mission will be to foster a transparent, responsible, and inclusive government that prioritizes the needs of our residents. I will strive to enhance community engagement by encouraging open dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders.

A key aspect of our city’s development is the retention of our dedicated city employees. Their experience and commitment are vital to our success, and I will advocate for policies that support their growth and satisfaction in the workplace.

My top priority is ensuring the safety of our streets and retaining the officers who protect them. Our new Police Chief, with his wealth of local experience, is a great addition to our team. Under his leadership, we've seen continued success in tackling graffiti, reducing crime, and strengthening community engagement. We must keep this momentum going.

Additionally, my focus will be on addressing critical issues such as public safety, infrastructure improvement, sustainable growth, and economic development.

It’s crucial that we address the issue of our aging historic buildings, many of which have suffered from neglect over the years. Preserving these structures is vital to maintaining our city’s heritage, and we must prioritize their restoration and upkeep. Additionally, it's essential that our General Plan and Zoning regulations reflect the concerns and needs of our neighborhoods, ensuring that our community’s voice is at the forefront of decision-making.

One of the most pressing challenges our city faces is the financial deficit. As a dedicated member of this community, my mission is to prioritize the completion of our financial audits to gain a clear and accurate understanding of our financial situation. By leading efforts to tackle this challenge head-on, I am committed to working diligently with our city government and residents to emerge from our state of financial distress and create a sustainable and prosperous future for Novato.

Supporting the tax measure is a crucial step toward addressing these financial challenges. It provides the necessary resources to fund essential services, invest in our infrastructure, and ensure the long-term health of our city’s finances. With your trust, I will work with Council and the City Manager to help insure transparency and accountability.
